Performance Tracking Guide

How to track your affiliate performance and optimize for conversions.

Use the Click Tracking URL

All affiliate links should go through urbot.net/api/affiliate/click?aff=YOUR_CODE&bot=BOT_SLUG. This URL logs the click, sets a 30-day cookie, and then redirects to the destination. Every click is recorded in your dashboard.

Tip: Use the Deep Links tab to generate these URLs automatically — it handles the encoding and formatting for you.

Check Your Dashboard Daily

Your affiliate dashboard shows clicks by day, conversions, pending earnings, and payout history. The conversion rate gauge tells you whether your copy is working. Under 2% = test new headlines. 3–5% = solid. Above 5% = excellent.

Tip: Check which bot_slug gets the most clicks. If "professor" drives 60% of your clicks, lean into education content.

Test One Variable at a Time

Run the same post with two different subject lines (email) or two different hooks (social) to see which performs better. The key variables to test: headline angle, bot featured (Professor vs. Legal vs. Medic), and price framing ($1 vs. "less than a coffee" vs. "one-time" emphasis).

Payout Timing

Commissions are credited when a purchase is confirmed (typically within 24h of the Stripe webhook). You can request a payout once you reach $25 in pending earnings. Payouts are processed via PayPal within 5–7 business days.
